The Compound - Tryon Street

We are currently, as of January 2010, working on a project where we will live, work, and play in the heart of the Southend District!

We have two 1930's bungalows and a vacant lot that we are purchasing sitting on a total of barely under 1/2 acre. One bungalow will be our home, the other will house J Studio (Joey Hewell's salon) and my "home" office. All yards will be fenced in together and will have gardens, walking paths, a fish pond, and to the side a large veggie garden! We are excited about this project and the fantastic and unique living environment opportunity we have. We are slated to be in, with most work other than full landscaping, by early to mid February.

The photos below are of our progress and will have "before & after" shots as this project moves along.

The two closest bungalows in this photo are our two and the vacant lot between the others will be our parking lot and vegetable garden - we'll be just 6 blocks from Uptown and are located in the heart of the Southend business district and just 2 blocks from 2 different light rail stops. This is a BEFORE photo!

I can't wait until this is done! The unusually wet and cold winter has kept us from getting much done outside...inside is a different story -- hoping to be open by March 15th, 2010

Landscaping after a full year is finally growing in - not to mention the great existing elements like the gorgeous crepe myrtle creating a natural "red carpet" at J Studio!
